Application of Sanhe Nano Insulation Panels in a 300T Ladle

Under the “dual carbon” goals, reducing ladle shell temperature and minimizing molten steel temperature loss have become key challenges for steel producers.
To address these challenges, Sanhe has developed nano insulation panels specifically designed for ladles. Made from advanced nano-scale inorganic materials, these panels offer insulation performance approximately 3–4 times better than conventional fiber-based materials. They feature low thermal conductivity, lightweight structure, reduced thickness, high-temperature stability, and low shrinkage. The panels are vacuum-packed with aluminum foil and can be easily cut and installed on-site.
Application Overview
In a 300-ton ladle project at a major steel plant, Sanhe nano insulation panels were applied as part of the insulation layer. Field results demonstrated:
Tight bonding with the ladle shell and permanent lining
No signs of burning, powdering, or structural degradation
Stable performance under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions
Performance Results
Significant reduction in shell temperature: decreased by at least 50°C from over 340°C
Improved structural integrity: reduced deformation and cracking of the permanent lining
Extended service life: longer lifespan of ladle and refractory materials
Reduced heat loss: minimized temperature drop during molten steel transfer
Lower energy consumption: reduced energy use in RH and LF refining processes
Enhanced operational stability: improved conditions for continuous casting
Market Applications
Sanhe’s ladle nano insulation panels have been widely adopted by major steel producers, including Xianggang, Rizhao Steel, Tangshan Steel, Liuzhou Steel, Kunming Steel, Shaanxi Steel, Jianlong Group, and Linsteel. The products have also been exported to steel plants in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Ethiopia, earning strong customer recognition.
